Expat Financial can provide expatriates living abroad international disability income insurance. Most financial experts agree, protecting your ability to earn an income should be considered a priority. We broker several plans from the marketplace. One such plan is called The Global Life and Disability Plan, underwritten by Allianz Netherlands, which is part of the Allianz Group and administered by William Russell Limited. It is specially designed to provide income replacement protection for individual expatriates around the world. In the United Arab Emirates, their plans are underwritten by Dubai Insurance Company. Unfortunately, disability plans that we offer are not available to local nationals or to expatriates living in USA. People in USA about to become or already expats can apply.

Plan Summary:

You may cover up to 75% of your annual income with an overall maximum of $144,000 US. On application, you chose when to take benefits and how much you need
You can get life insurance & accidental benefits as well.
You can apply in $USD, EURO or in UKŁ.
Housewife/househusband life insurance - potential cover up to Ł100,000 ($160,000 or €160,000)
On enrolment, you choose when to take benefits (3 or 6 month waiting period) and how much cover you require. Cover continues right through to age 65, normal retirement date, if earlier, recovery or your return to work subject to William Russell's policy agreement.
Benefits are automatically increased 2% p.a. on the anniversary of a claim to counter inflation
Benefits and premiums can be paid in Pounds Sterling, EURO or USD $, in most territories, including your home country
Plan doesn't cover you if you work in your home country of citizenship as plan is designed and meant for expatriates
Benefit payments are made quarterly, in arrears
You do not need to be hospitalized to claim - covers sickness & injury as per plan terms and conditions.
Minimum premium is $320 US per annum
Premiums are age banded and can increase on annual renewal
If your inability to work lasts more than 24 months, Section 2 of the plan requires proof of your being unable to return to any form of gainful activity for which training, education and experience would qualify you

Countries Excluded:

The William Russell policy is unable to cover Expatriates residing in the following countries: Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola (Lunda Norte), Burundi, Chechnya, Columbia, Democratic Republic of Congo, East Timor, Iran, Iraq, Jammu, Kashmir, Liberia, Netherlands, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Peru, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Switzerland, Yemen, Canada, USA - this list is subject to change by underwriters at any time. If you reside in the USA or Canadian, this plan is not available.

Excluded countries and regions

William Russell will not cover you if you travel to any of the following countries or areas that the British Foreign Office has advised its citizens to leave:

Afghanistan, Angola, Burundi, Chechnya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Indian states of Gujarat, Jammu, Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Iraq, Israel & Palestinian Territories, Ivory Coast, Liberia, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen - this list is subject to change.

Questions:

Who can apply? Answer: Any employee or self-employed person with 100% office duties in non-manual occupations, under the age of 56 years. Exclusions? Answer: Very few. The following are the principal exclusions: pre-existing medical conditions, intentionally self-inflicted injuries and attempted suicide; whether sane or insane; deliberate exposure to exceptional danger; your own criminal act; active participation in war; mental or nervous disorders lasting more than 24 months unless you have been hospitalized; abuse of drugs, alcohol or medication other than prescribed drugs; playing any professional sport; participating in any speed or duration tests or races of any kind in or upon mechanical vehicles; use of Ultra Light Motorized flying machines or hang gliding; flying in an aircraft including helicopters unless as a passenger and with a pilot who is legally licensed. No benefit is paid if disability is caused by or associated with a pre-existing medical condition unless that medical condition has been fully disclosed to William Russell and we they agreed in writing to cover you for this. How much does it cost? Answer: Simply go to our quote page and let us know your name, citizenship, location, occupation, date of birth, income, waiting period and currency requested. We will then email you a quote and fax the application if you decide to proceed. You can also go online for a quote.

Medicals? Answer: This will depend on your age, answers on application and the amount you are applying for. Download Rate Sheet for more details on underwriting.

Who is the AGF group ? Answer: Supported by the European number one insurance company Allianz AG, AGF employs approximately 34,700 people worldwide.

Continuing your cover when you return to your home country? Answer: If you return to your home country you may continue to renew your cover provided that the local laws in your home country permit you to do so, and provided that we are permitted to offer cover in that country. We reserve the right to refuse to offer cover in certain countries. Your home country is the country of which you hold a passport as submitted to William Russell at the time of your application.

Returning to the United States of America? Answer: If your home country is the USA, your cover will automatically terminate from the renewal date following your permanent return to the USA.

How do I Apply? Answer: Once a customer is ready to proceed with the insurance, the underwriters will forward the necessary application forms and insurance company will arrange for any medical evidence, if required. There are no additional fees over and above the premiums you pay directly to the insurance company. Once approved, you will be sent an invoice for the premium, which can be paid by check, wire or credit card. William Russell can often cover a person of almost any nationality around the world who lives outside their country of citizenship!
